Frontrunners 21

In Frontrunners 21, starting in 25th August 2025, we will reform our pedagogical approach to focus on 4x Core Topic. These will be divided into two groups: the first 16 weeks will cover Organisation and Adventure, where students must choose one core topic from 25th August to 19th December. The next 16 weeks, beginning in 5th January to 15th May 2026, will focus on Media and Arts, with students selecting one core topic from these as well.

From 25th August to 15th May, there will be general subjects where all students will come together to learn about various topics focusing on education, teamwork, and the complexities of Deaf identity. Topics will include Deaf communities, Deaf spaces, sign language, Deaf history, and Deaf business.

Our program offers a balanced and engaging weekly schedule, designed to maximise focus

and personal development. Each week is divided as follows:

  • 2.5 Days: Focused on your core topic, providing in-depth learning and practical experience.

  • 1 Day: Dedicated to Holistic Wellness & Sports, ensuring physical and mental well-being.

  • 1 Day: Reserved for general topics, allowing participants to explore new areas and broaden their skills.

This structure ensures a comprehensive and enriching experience throughout the program.

There will be various week-long themes, a 24 and 48 hours Filming Challenge, and a study trip, where all students will participate to maximise their learning from one another.

4x Core Topics

You can watch a summary video for each core topic below this text. If you'd like to learn more about each core topic, scroll down to explore detailed information on what, how, why, and who, accompanied by video translations.

We will have two core topics in each module. You will need to choose one to focus on and study in-depth during the module. However, there will be workshops held during evening activities, allowing you to learn about the other core topic from your fellow students.

If you are doing Module 1+2 and choose Adventure from 25th August to 19th December 2025, followed by Media from 5th January to 18th May 2026, your example schedule would look like this:

Example Week Schedule:

Left Timetable: Activities during Module 1

Right Timetable: Activities during Module 2

The schedule - Module 1 on November 2025 is an example for the students of FR21, showing when they will be split into two different classes or locations depending on their choice.

If you see two circles (Blue and Green), this indicates a split. If you see a black circle, it means the entire group is together, which could be for activities such as Deaf Studies, study trips, team building, filming challenge, Winter bath, or visiting places like the Lego House.

This schedule is fixed from August to May as a typical week in Frontrunners. However, it may change depending on projects, guest teachers, study trips, and other factors.
